Baseball Tickets In The Al West - It's Time For The Last-minute Push

Baseball tickets for AL West games are gaining in demand as the teams in the division begin to make their final pushes for a spot in the postseason. Overall, it appears, for now, that the A's have taken control, but the Angels are not out of it yet. However, time is growing short, so anyone with plans to make a surge towards a playoff birth needs to start doing so now.

Oakland A's

Currently:

Speaking of surges, the A's have been doing just that over the past 30 days. The team posted a record of 19-8 over the past 30 days, and their team-building model is paying off yet again. They got a bargain in Frank Thomas, who's mashing the ball like the "Big Hurt" of old and supplying punch to a lineup that has lacked power in recent years.

Outlook:

There's no reason to think the A's will crash as long as consistent arms like Barry Zito continue to produce on the mound, but stranger things have happened.

Los Angeles Angels

Currently:

Although it's getting late, the Angels can still challenge for the division. Although they had a pretty good month, going 17-11, they still lost ground to the red-hot A's. However, they have two series remaining against them, if the Angels can stay within shouting distance the title could come down to those games.

Outlook:

As long as Vladimir Guerrero keeps doing his thing and Jered Weaver keeps adding spice to the pitching staff, this team will not bow out until the final weekend, if at all.

Texas Rangers

Currently:

The Rangers are apparently out of it, as they are currently nine games behind the A's, and that's just too big a deficit to make up in 20 games. It's too bad, too, as the Rangers have been getting better, posting a 16-12 mark over the past 30 days.

Outlook:

The Rangers have the firepower to compete with anyone, particularly if they can re-sign Carlos Lee, but they need to add pitching to put them over the top in 2007.

Seattle Mariners

Currently:

The Mariners have had a disappointing season, and their biggest fault was exposed during their 11-game losing streak on their way to a 12-16 record over the past 30 days: pitching. The staff has been consistently lit up, and no team can survive on a steady diet of 7-6 games.

Outlook:

With Ichiro Suzuki and Felix Hernandez onboard, this team could contend if they get more pitching prospects for 2007. If that happens, baseball tickets will be a hot item next season.
